Dalia Malek

Dalia is currently based in London and performs around the UK comedy circuit, but also makes appearances in Ireland, the US, and Egypt.

An Egyptian-Californian who started comedy in London, Dalia has a unique brand of dark, irreverent humor that has helped her progress in comedy quickly. She had never performed before entering the Chortle Student Comedy Award 2012, but after only three months of doing comedy, she became a finalist.

She has since appeared at the Latitude Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where she performed on the Free Fringe and Chortle's Fast Fringe at the Pleasance, as well as various universities, Mirth Control, Comedy Knights, XS Malarkey, Flapper's in Burbank, and the Comedy Store in Manchester. Additionally, Dalia has performed with Hezb El Comedy, "Egypt's first comedy factory" (CNN).

Dalia won the open mic competition at the Comedy Store in La Jolla, and as a result has opened at the Comedy Store's Best of San Diego. She also won the Beat the Frog competition at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester, and has been a finalist in the Harrogate Comedian of the Year 2013 competition, the Reading Comedy Festival New Act of the Year 2013 competition, and the Beat the Frog World Series 2013 at the Frog and Bucket. She has provided opening support for Ava Vidal (Mock the Week, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow) in her solo show He's Not a Keeper, and has supported acts such as Tony Law, Rich Fulcher, and Hannibal Buress.
