Sometimes she thinks she may have imagined
it all …
The thrill of the Village in ’61 with the
new young guns of the folk world, Dylan, Baez and the Tom and Jerry duo who
would become Simon and Garfunkel. The touring years with Judy Collins, Sonny
Terry and Brownie McGhee and Mississippi John Hurt. Singing her famous song for
the first time at the Ash Grove in LA. And being asked by Joni Mitchell in
’69:” How does it feel to have written a rock standard?”
Ah, yes, THAT song! How well it has
served her – and many others….the Grateful Dead, the Allmans, Rod
Stewart, Jeff Beck, Robert Plant among them. "A spectacular piece of music,” is
how Plant describes the post-apocalyptic anthem Morning Dew, the first song she
ever wrote.

Bonnie’s comeback in 2013 after so
many years of family and university life was one of the best stories of our
acoustic music scene. The still-sweet, soaring vocals of this enduring
Canadian star would have you believe she has never been away. "Still an
impressively original lady,” says Robin Denselow, of The Guardian, one of the
many who have acclaimed her latest album on Hornbeam Take Me For a
Walk In The Morning Dew.
Tonight, as she sings songs old and new,
her trusty guitar man Ben Phillipson will be at her side.
