ABI ROBERTS: ANGLICHANKA

ANGLICHANKA (Englishwoman in Russian) is a brand new stand-up comedy show about Abi Roberts' time living in the former Soviet Union in the 1990s. ANGLICHANKA is about hardcore Russki vodka, studying opera at the Moscow Conservatoire and the role of matches in outdoor loos in minus 20 temperatures!  Abi returned to Moscow earlier this year after an absence of 18 years when she became the UK’s first pro comic to perform stand-up in Russia in Russian. In this show we see how the country has changed, what we share in common with Russia and what we need to know about Putin and the country described once as "a riddle wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma”.  GQ Magazine - "True comedy genius"; Independent - "Great comedic writing…(Roberts) breaks new comedy ground.
