Fronted by House Band, The Blinkin’ Buzzards, each month’s meeting brings a top-name artist from the worlds of folk and acoustic music. It is now one of the best-known folk music clubs in London.

THIS WEEK'S GUEST:

DAI AND THE RAMBLERS

All right, let’s get 2017 off to a rollicking start. And here we have the perfect band for the job….

Guaranteed to raise the roof with their brilliant blend of 50s honky,-tonk, rhythm ‘n’ blues, rockabilly
and zydeco.

Dai Price, singer, songwriter and guitarist, has got a-hold of some real cool hands for his rockin’ quartet. Accordionist Alan Dunn has worked with Loudon Wainwright III and Richard Thompson, fiddle player Bob Loveday has been sideman for Van Morrison and and Jeff Beck. Slap bassist Rupert Gillett also anchors the London Klezmer Quartet.

It was Ted Carroll, boss of Ace Records, who asked Dai to put a band together for a party a couple of years back and he was so delighted he rushed them into the studio for their first acclaimed album.

"A joyous romp,” said Americana UK. It raises your spirits and gladdens your heart.” And The Musician called it "an organic swinging masterpiece.”

Ted Carroll himself says the Ramblers are "just about as good as it gets. One of the best bands I’ve seen – and in 50-plus years I’ve seen ’em all.”

Come see for yourselves.
