Gordon Southern presents his new hour of stand up "Waiting for Gordo”  at the 2022 Melbourne Comedy Festival. It’s something his family have done in the UK since all this madness began in 2020, a year that seemed to get  "sticky feet.” It had a one year contract and it was late with the rent, European Cup and Olympics…

"Being stuck in Australia was a revelation… I’d been a globetrotting comic since 1996, never in the same place for more than a few weeks. Then it all changed. My world was no longer planes, trains and automobiles; it was mostly a bus replacement service, Adelaide’s rather modest tram network and walking.

This show is for anyone who’s ever had to recalibrate, resettle and retrain. Southern has had adventures re-entering the work force and rediscovering his passion for stock rotation, Tasmania, and other people’s dogs. This show will also make you believe in the magic of Christmas again. Spoiler alert – there’s more than one Santa.

"Since 2004 I have called Australia my 2nd home. That statement may need an upgrade. "
