The ‘blues roots revue’ is a collaboration between three of Britain’s best live acts in the blues tradition;  Spikedrivers,  Fran & Mike McGillivray and Sam Hare.  Each has their own distinctive style both in performance and song writing and together they promise an unforgettable musical evening.

This is not three separate acts with a bit of a jam at the end. Yes you will hear each one doing their own unique thing but you will also hear what happens when three superb guitarists, two stunning bass players, an impeccable drummer/percussionist and six glorious voices come together in different combinations.

You've almost certainly heard Bobby Valentino's violin playing, most notably on "Young At Heart" by the Bluebells, which he also co-wrote, but also on recordings and gigs with the likes of The Men They Couldn’t Hang; Mark Knopfler; Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers; Bob Dylan; The Style Council; Billy Bragg; Big Country; Nick Lowe and many, many more, as well as TV and film soundtracks. 

But have you heard him sing?  No? Then you’re in for a treat.  He’s a born-again crooner in the Bing Crosby, Dean Martin vein but, unlike Bing and Dean, he also writes his own songs.

Downstairs at the King’s Head Bobby will be show-casing his current album, "Pat-a-Cake, Pat-a-Cake", a collection of 14 songs that already sound like classics, released on Handmade Music. His new band - The Musicians (well what else would you call ‘em) – include a great new young guitarist, George Risk, the double-bass virtuoso, Simon Thorpe, and percussionist/drummer Mike Pickering.
